Flip Ding ("we," "us," or "our") operates a marketplace and community site for pinball collectors, sellers, and players. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including that we never sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes, and that you can delete your account and all associated data at any time.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Account information: email address, username, and password (your password is hashed and never visible to us in plain text).
• Profile information: display name, bio, avatar, city/state/country, initials, and other details you choose to add to your profile.
• Marketplace content: listings, photos, machine details, prices, and messages or notes you post.
• Reviews: ratings, written feedback, and photos you submit after a completed transaction.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid tier or make a donation, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details ourselves — only what tier you're on and the amount paid.
• Communications: anything you send us directly, such as support requests.

We also collect some information automatically:

• Usage data: such as which listings you view or click through to contact a seller about, so we can show sellers who's interested in their items.
• Cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the marketplace, blog, and community features
• Process payments, subscriptions, and donations
• Send transactional emails (email verification, password resets, review requests)
• Send marketing or site-news emails, but only if you've opted in — you can change this anytime from your dashboard
• Maintain the security of accounts and detect fraud or abuse
• Respond to support requests

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share information as needed to operate the site:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf — our database and authentication provider, our payment processor (Stripe), our email delivery provider (Amazon SES), and our file storage provider — each bound to use your information only to provide their service to us.
• Other users, where you choose to make information public — your username, avatar, bio, listings, and reviews are visible to other visitors, since that's the point of a public marketplace profile.
• Legal reasons — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Flip Ding, our users, or the public.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide you the service. If you delete your account, we delete your data as described below.

Your rights and choices

• Access and update: you can view and edit most of your profile information directly from your dashboard.
• Email preferences: marketing and site-news emails are opt-in, and you can turn either off at any time from your dashboard.
• Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and data at any time from your dashboard's "Danger zone" section. This removes your profile, listings, reviews, comments, and login — permanently and immediately. (If you have an active paid subscription, please cancel it separately first, since deleting your account here doesn't cancel billing with our payment processor.)

Children's privacy

Flip Ding is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information appropriately.

Third-party links

Listings and posts may link to third-party sites (like a tournament's website). We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of sites we don't operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
